With the traffic in L.A., it's so incredibly hard to get anything done......
Yesterday I had two meetings. I left my (soon to be ex) apartment in Hollywood at 10:30 AM to make an 11:30 meeting in Santa Monica. I arrived there at 11:42. I left Santa Monica at 3:00 for my next meeting 3.95 miles away in Culver City, but didn't arrive there until 3:40. Left Culver City around 5PM and didn't arrive home until 7:00. I only stopped briefly at Bristol Farms to pick up some dinner. Now I ask you, people, does that sound like a fun day in the car?
It's just amazing to me how much time it takes to accomplish so few things in this city. Everything is so spread out! It seems to me like we need to be making better use of the sky (without polluting it, of course). The technology is in place to implement jet packs and I want one damn it! Can anyone help a girl out here?
After finally arriving home last night, I walked in to see the chaos that is an apartment in mid-move. Boxes of memories everywhere. The smell of dust from things that have been in place for a long time being moved and dismantled. It's an odd mixture of emotions that run through you.... lonely, excited, happy, scared, nervous, strong, fragile, ready, uncertain, confident. Up and down it goes with each passing moment. My last night here and it's like saying goodbye to an old friend. It's always the view from the windows I miss the most when I leave.
As usual, leave comments for me on Myspace because they're disabled here for PhP reasons I don't understand.
